This novel is about a young, attractive woman who begins a new job as an architect. In this job, she meets and falls in love with a man whose influence would change her life forever. The novel takes place in Nicaragua and describes political conflicts proper of this country. After Lavinia (the main character) is influenced by her new love, she joins a group of revolutionaries and suddenly everything that used to be her normal to her, is drastically changed.
